Friday May 25th thru till Sunday 3rd June Holiday Site Peebles MR 73/242405BCC Scotland welcomes you to Hay Lodge Park, Peebles, in the Scottish Borders for the Spring Bank Holiday weekend and beyond. Booking is not required for this meet but it’s nice to know you’re coming. Site opens on Friday May 25th at 10.00 hrs. Peebles town sits in one of the beautiful valleys of river Tweed surrounded by hills, farms and forests. The site is a 5 to 10 minutes walk along the riverside into town. Golf, fishing, mountain biking and walking are popular pursuits, with the Forest of Tweeddale and the challenging Southern Upland Way within easy reach. Among our program of events, on Saturday 26th May our famous "Setterday Nicht Ceilidh" with live music and eats, this year should see the sheep dog trials nearby on the second Saturday of the meet. The site is only a five minute walk to the local swimming pool. Watch out for the Herons on the river Tweed only 50 mtrs., away. Own sanitation essential although public toilets are nearby. Fees £5.65 per unit night, with extra adults £1.00 per night. Site on left just past hospital on the A72 Peebles to Biggar just B4 the end of 30mph speed limit. Follow BCC signs. Well placed for enjoying the historical sites and outdoor pursuits of the Scottish Borders. Many interesting walks and cycle rides, good food and hostelries. Own sanitation essential. Our Holiday site at Sandhead is only 500 mtrs., from a sandy beach, and also provides a perfect base from which explore the SW corner of Scotland and the Mull of Galloway. Ideal for touring Dumfries & Galloway and Wigtownshire. Daytrips by ferry to Ireland from Stranraer and Cairnryan. Ideal location as a stopover on way to or from Ireland. The start point of the Southern Uplands Way is close by. Own sanitation essential. The organisers are Bill and Mona, call them on 01290 422743 for details. Sandhead to Langholm is around three hours journey, and you've an overlap in dates to let you to make the journey easily. Contrast the Coastline with the Countryside this year, both Holiday Site organisers will make you welcome! 20th to 31st July Holiday Site Langholm Rugby Club, Langholm, Dumfriesshire.Langholm Common Riding Meet. From the South leave M6/A6 near Carlisle following A7 signposted tourist route to Edinburgh. Approximately ½ a mile after Langholm the site is on the left marked "Ewes Water CP" From the North the site is first on the right after the Ewes Water traffic lights. Many traditional activities in the town during the Holday Site leading up to the Common Riding day on Friday 27th July starting at 5.00am. On 26th July a visit has been arranged to the beautiful and impressive Tibetan Buddhist Monastery of Samye Ling. Bookings welcomed. Langholm has many waymarked walks and cycle rides. MR. 78/085050 just off the main A/M74 route.Our Feast of Lanterns meet theme is "Sweeties". Moffat club site is a popular venue, with the Woollen Mills, Toffee Shop and much more to visit all in walking distance. This is a holiday Weekend so advance booking is essential.
